I have a ricoh 3350 that gives printing error when attempting postscript jobs over the network that aren't tiny in filesize. it prints large postscript jobs instantly over USB with the same driver and settings. it prints large PCL jobs over the network or USB quickly. The failure is only the ability to print postscript jobs over the network which are not tiny. the network is configured properly, and i can access the printer via web browser. The ricoh connector app on android can print over the network. I have tried disabling spooling on the Ricoh or on the computer or on both - to zero improvement. the network has been in place and working for years without issues postscript printing to a laserjet 4mv. I am using the tcp/ip port, and have windows 10 auto install of WSD devices turned off. the local network is gigabit, but of course the NIC of the Ricoh is 10/100. IPv6 is disabled on the network equipment, computer, and the Ricoh. The driver is NOT the universal one, the folder read r72690en and the driver shows as "RICOH Aficio MP 3350 PS". the print processor is E139PP64, RAW. The postscript SD card has no issues. the Ricoh has 768MB of ram, and the harddrive has 99% freespace with zero issues storing files in the harddrive's document server. I am at my wit's end. thanks in advance for any direction.

Re: ricoh 3350 network ps hangs at 256kb, prints ps via usb & pcl via network
update: printing postscript over the network DOES actually print, but not at a usable speed. what prints instantly over postscript/USB - took 5 hours and 7 minutes to print over network. Very large (larger in spooler than the postscript job) PCL jobs print within a couple minutes over the network. There is some bottleneck only happening to postscript/network jobs. The activity lights on the network show very little traffic during that 5 hour print, and the spooler showed the job as 1.65MB. For comparison, a PCL print job shows as 5.9MB in the spooler. -

Is this for all files printing with PostScript, or just PDF's?Comment

Re: ricoh 3350 network ps hangs at 256kb, prints ps via usb & pcl via network
This happens with all files printing with postscript, including printing PDFs from Acrobat. Doesn't matter the original file or software sending the print. all postscript prints are instant over USB. all PCL prints are near instant over network. all postscript prints over network are severely slow.Comment

tried another pdf software? yes, as stated, postscript slowdown over network happens on any software.
tried pcl6? yes, as stated, pcl6 works as expectected over usb and network. i require postscript output.
is it wsd? no, as stated, i have removed and disabled wsd and manually installed tcp/ip (v4).Comment

Re: ricoh 3350 network ps hangs at 256kb, prints ps via usb & pcl via network
Is this happening from only a single PC/ laptop or multiple units?
Have you tried connecting over both wi-fi and hard-wired?
Have you tried connecting a laptop/pc directly to the machine ethernet port to remove your network from the equation?Comment

Re: ricoh 3350 network ps hangs at 256kb, prints ps via usb & pcl via network
Hi,
I face this issue in MPC2051. Prints slow on PS over the network but prints fine on USB. When I used PCL5 or PCL6, everything works just fine.
You might want to try reducing the network security level to "0" and try again.Aye! Cut the crapComment

Re: ricoh 3350 network ps hangs at 256kb, prints ps via usb & pcl via network
that is the situation im in. there is no local network security other than windows 10's defender, or are you speaking of a setting in the ricoh?Comment

Re: ricoh 3350 network ps hangs at 256kb, prints ps via usb & pcl via network
screenprint screen development need the dots for gradients that postscript produces, which is why i bought the $$$$ ricoh with the $$$ postscript sd addon card for the ricoh.
i have multiple computers that need to print postscript, so usb is out as an optionComment

pcl6 over tcp/ip IPv4 wired (or wifi) network - works
pcl6 over usb - works
postscript over usb - works
postscript over tcp/ip IPv4 wired network (or wifi) - unusably slow, taking 5+ hours to print.Comment
