    Sc:551 error on1500

    A Computer technician and wanted bto sort out afriend with above problem.

    The copier is not turning to READY MODE.

    IT DISPLAYS ERROR SC 1500
    and the Heat button remains red

      Can you show me an image of the machine (try google image search) - I have no idea what model you mean. SC551 is probably a problem with the fusing unit/thermistor.

          I had the same error SC551 on an MP4000 but the model should not matter. The error (I was told) was a fuser thermistor problem/error. I cleared my code by entering Copy SP Mode (push Clear Modes button, 107, then hold Clear/Stop button, touch Copy/System SP screen button), turn off machine for 30 seconds, turn back on. If you don't get a ready screen, you may have to physically replace some parts of the fuser; the thermistors?
