    MP301 display-touch panel ?

    HI,

This machine starts up, then press copier or scanner, sometimes it reacts, sometimes not at all
And when it reacts, it does it only one time, then it freezes completely. . . ?

Doubt if it is just the operation panel or maybe a controll board error ?
I can get into Touch & LCD test mode, but from there again it freezes.

    Someone?
Dont know what part I should order here . . .

    Thanks in advance

    gr George

Are all the firmwares upto date including the op panel ?
A while ago I had one or two of these get fixed by doing a firmware update.

Check the logging data to see if any SC codes internally.

If it works, don't touch it.

If the Op Panel is "Freezing", just as an experiment try disconnecting the network cable and fax line from it and reboot the device. See if it keeps freezing up then.

I've had more than a few of these devices that the control panel would freeze up because they were running "Power Over Ethernet" on the network, and those integrated network cards don't like that voltage being applied to them.

If it starts working, get with their IT people and see if they can remove the Power signal from that network port. If not, you'll have to make a network cable with the power lines not hooked up, or connect a hub/switch between the wall and the machine.
