Ricoh MP7502, adf jams only when sending fax ????

Was there for fuser error, and customer brought this up. I tested and repeated what they were claiming. Can make copies all day long, no issue. If I try to fax it usually jams on the first but mostly the second page. J054 code. Clear and restart and it will go through most of the time. I am looking at the skew sensor, but it changes state when i test it. Am I missing something obvious ? Rollers and belt are good. Does it pull faster when faxing and scanning?

Try cleaning the black felt for the registration sensor.

I believe the machine does feed originals faster when faxing due to the lower resolution. Here's a bulletin that speaks to DF issues.

I have also seen on high mileage DFs where the feed assembly gets all wallered out by the white bushings spinning inside the black plastic pickup shell. Causes late pickup because the gears can skip, and to boot you won't necessarily hear a problem.

I had a high mileage one wear the upper paper guide (D6092347) and it caused various random jams and when coping legal it would actually distort the copy. The paper had worn away the raised "fins".

There is a service bulliten regarding the idler pulley for the transport motor. I had fought jamming problems on scanning and faxing only and since I lubricated the shaft that the idler gear rides on, my problems have been minimized.

Clean the black reference for the skew correction sensor. Use a can of compressed air.

I changed the motor and it got better but still jammed, then lubed all of the bearings and pulleys I could find and that seem to do it.
