    MP3351 SC818

    I have a cust who gets a sc818 about ounce a week on his MP3351. Turning it off and on resets it. It has print, fax, and scan but nothing is hooked up.He only uses it to copy on. He says it just shows up randomly when he goes to use it. My service manual doesn't show a SC818 and a search online gives vague info connected to older models. Anyone have some information on this code? Appreciate any help you can give.

      I can't see an 818 neither. Where it lands in the service manual though, I'd suspect a firmware bug. Is it at the latest and greatest? Failing that, clean the RAM contacts, if it still persists, new controller!

          Thanks for responding, I suspected it might be a firmware issue. I'll start with that.

              SC8189 may not be listed in the MP 3351 manual but it is in the MP 2510/3010 which are the previous models.
              Watchdog error. While the system program is running, no other programs can run (due to a bus hold or endless loop).
              Defective controller board
              From Goose's Guide for other models reload system and/or BICU firmware

                  I was afraid it might be a controller board. I'll still go with firmware first. Will a 3350 control board work in the 3351 if I switch the NOVRAMs?

                          thanks for the help, I'll see what I can do with firmware upgrade.
