can anyone send me the firmware to ricoh mpc 3001 to try to repair the error sc899? i have all manuals of canon to exchange if anyone has interest

that could be due to a corrupt file ..

have you tried to clear print que and test with different file to print?

does it appear on start up?

please explain issue

You might start by telling us when the SC899 occurs and attaching a printout of the current Diagnostic Report SP 5990-005.

Honestly, you can firmware the machine, but it isn't a 100% fix. (It helps, don't get me wrong).

In most cases, the SC899 is a result of a user trying to print a web page directly. The scripting in the page is what confuses the print and causes the SC899.

My fix for this issue has been better operator training.

Basically I instruct the user to use the "print this page" button on the web page if there is one. If there is not a button, then I instruct the user to do a print preview and then print the page out of print preview. Both methods eliminate a great deal of scripting and should allow them to print whatever they want in terms of web pages without issues.

There is a small chance that if the machine has a fax option, the fax option could be the source of the SC899.

To determine what the issue is, turn the machine off, unplug it from the network and turn the machine back on. If it doesn't SC899, then it is a corrupt print job. If it does, most likely the issue is the fax and you can disconnect the fax module to determine that for sure.

Sorry for the bad introduction of the problem.
I'm totally aware of the recent's problems with this model's and the SC 899.
Firmware issues or bad controllers. My equipment is not plugged to any network and I format the hdd's.

so it does it when NOT plugged into network jack?

I have had it be a fax board twice and have had the hot line tell me it could be a fax option issue, but it is fairly rare.

I was preparing the machine to deliver to client. The error came after some minutes. It's never plugged to network
