    [Error Code] Ricoh MP5002 SC701-09

    Hi all,

I have an MP5002 that keeps jamming on 2 sided originals and then goes to SC701-09. Can someone tell me what that code means? The manual I have only goes to 701-03, doesn't show the 09. Don't have the jam codes right now but should have them this afternoon because I'm headed back to try again today. I have cleaned all the sensors I could find on the document feeder and after cleaning the one under the original tray it worked for a few days but it came back again today. Ordered a new feed kit (belt, feed and separation rollers) but not feeling like that's it because it seems to only jam on two sided originals... Any help is greatly appreciated!

Can't say I've seen that code.
My manual also only goes to 03. Feed motor issue of some kind. Do you get any jam code?
Take the latest and greatest firmware with you, I don't see anything in f/w history that relates to this code, but good to have it updated anyway (New System f/w as of 1/20/20).
I see on the Ricoh forums (for a different model, df3090), where a couple of guys had success in cutting the tie-wraps on the DF Harness (I'm assuming the one going down to the mainframe). I highly doubt this is the fix.

Check the gears on the sep. roller shaft, they have been known to break free from the splined shaft (lift up the guide that the sep roller resides on, and you'll see the gears I'm talking about on the bottom side of that guide). [PN B8022231 Shaft: Reverse: Drive: Press Fit]
Did you unscrew the little metal sensor pad and clean that (lift up doc feeder and it's just to the left of the white plate, has a black felt material that needs to be cleaned - just hit it with some air).
Did you clean all the black felts that the sensors look down on to? The P3 guide has one, and the guide just to the left of it has one (again just hit them with air, those felts are delicate when it comes to fingers touching them).

Have also seen the blue "P3" guide get broken and cause issues. PN: B8023654
Next would be checking or replacing; motors/ clutches/ limiters/ one ways/ bushings (for binding).

EDIT: DO NOT UPDATE SYSTEM FIRMWARE PAST 2.21 have been having lots of issues with 2.22 and 2.23 getting SC878 upon startup.
