    C4503 vs. C4504 similarity

How many parts are the same in a C4503 machine and a C4504 machine. I know the itb cleaner and the pcu's are but wasn't sure about other parts, Thanks.

A lot of the consumables are compatible. Several are different. The pressure roller and bearings are the same but sleeve different. all feed rollers, pcu, (dev units different), itb cleaning unit, transfer belt (belt itself), ptr is different,

Only same parts is itb cleaning assy and feed rollers and a compatible drum kit.

DON'T TRY TO FIT TRANSFER UNIT OR PTR ASSY YOU WILL GET C/Q PROBLEMS

You can fit 04 oem pcu's into 03 but not 03 to 04

Toner supply units are the same part number for '03 and '04.

The parts within the PCU are the same ie drum, blades, charge etc but the frame is different but if you order the latest part number oem 04 pcu they will fit into 03 but not 03 into 04. The 04 pcu's are cheaper from ricoh than the 03 series pcu's

Developer units definitely different. I've tried. Pcu themselves are the same.

Hmm interesting.... I'm about to be getting into the '04 series and was hoping to buy '03 for the guts to replace.

Good to know... Now is the actual developer powder different? I've come across some generic toner that says you can use in both 03 and 04... So was curious if the toner ingredients are the same wouldn't the developer also be?

                        Toners are the same.

Given the issues I have seen at times with 03 series devo units, I would not be putting those into a newer machine and instead want the newer version of the devo units. PCU's are fine as others have mentioned.

                            Just my two cents.

I found that it makes a significant price difference in the 30/35 ppm models. I'm not sure if the PCU's are exchangeable between the 04 and 03 series for those models.
