Hi, All. Has anyone actually changed the developer in a black c5503 dev unit? If so, what developer did you use? I just replaced one and cleaned out the old one (toner/dev chunks causing lines). I have a ton of old developer from previous models just going to waste, and I figured I might try to refill the old unit with a "similar chemistry" bag of developer.

Re: C5503 K developer
AS I have used mpc6003 toners in a mpc3003 by shaving bottom of housing and swapping chips that toner is the same.
I have changed mpc3003 K and cyan developer when seeing major clumps/chunks in dev tank.
I have not tried type 24/28/19 or others but developer for the mpc3003.. -

Dev units are cheap I've never tried any other model developers in the 03's ricoh UK only sell dev assy but I know you can get dev from China but wouldn't recommend it.Regards Mark

Re: C5503 K developer
I've used the old B2309640/60/70/80 in pretty much everything by now and can't remember running into issues, but could just have been lucky too I guess.
Edit: have not used them in 03 range or newer, just remembered now what a pain those Dev units are to crack open.
