Hi,
I have 2 machines, one of them recently aquired for parts wich the older machine is lacking.
The aquired machine has an defective polygon motor and stemming from that a defective R157
SMD resisistor (0 Ohm) on the BICU on the 24V line going out to the polygon motor and the display
background illumination.
On that machine is an installed and working bridge unit and an 1000 page finisher.
The older machine has no bridge unit and no finisher installed.
Now the problem:
When installing that working bridge unit (and the finisher) to the older machine, the motor of
the bridge unit won't start (SP-5-804-153/155 output check). The junction gate solenoid (SP-5-804-158) works.
On the recently aquired machine the bridge unit works every output test without any problems.
The next thing i did was swapping the IOB (controls the bridge unit) between the two machines,
but without success.
May it be necessary to "activate" the bridge option on the older machine (i didn't find anything in
the service manual)?
Or maybe this is a connector problem on the female bridge unit connector of the older machine,
or a wire between the IOB and that connector maybe "nibbed"?
Has someone had such a problem ?
Kind regards, Thomas Altmeyer
