    MP C3500 Copier Duplex Problem

Does anyone have experienced with MP C3500 fail to print/copy duplex letter size?

Mine does the 11X17 ok but fails to duplex the 8.5X11 with either printing or copying option. Any help will really appreciated.

I saw this once on an MP900 when in User Tools the tray for letter was set to No Duplex mode. Not sure if MP C3500 has the same setting.

Relax! This firmware injection won't hurt...but it will take 45 minutes.

Or the media type for that cassette is set to thick paper?

          Kopycat, Eric1968.

Under menu Copying in Duplex mode 2 sided was selected and the paper type- plain paper was selected. Both trays were set to automatic.

The 11x17 was printed fine in duplex.

So you still can't duplex letter? Have you tried putting the letter size in the other tray? That will isolate it to a setting for the tray. Do you get any error messages? Try setting the paper size in the user tools instead of the automatic size selection...I've seen problems with the size detection. Beyond that, perhaps you have a glitch in the firmware...reload firmware.

Please update us on what the fix is when you find it. I'm very curious now.

when you say failed to print do you mean it jams or doesnt print at all?
Get your facts first, and then you can distort them as much as you please.

There was a bulletin for rattling in the paper separation area. One or both of the springs would come loose on the duplex driven roller. I have had duplex jams caused by this. I can't explain why 11x17 is working, other that there may be a lower set of rollers driving the paper through the duplex.

You should probably just try to find an old spring from a parts machine that will fit or can be modified to fit. It would be faster, cheaper, and easier than ordering and waiting for a part.

I still have the srpings. I just need to get the adapter plate to hold the roller in place.
