Hi, All. I hope you are having a safe and mind-calming day. I have a c5503 that will not recognize the usb flash drive when plugged into the SOP slot. SP 5985-002 is set to "1". 4 different flash drives have been tried, including one that works fine in a c4503 I have in the shop. Am I missing something simple?

Re: Scan to USB question c5503
No printer sp1110 on this model, but scanner sp1013 is still being used. I will check it out tomorrow onsite, maybe. Thanks for the info.NEVER ASSUME ANYTHINGComment

Re: Scan to USB question c5503
It could be a SOP screen setting that's the issue - It is on the MP305 that I have here at home.
Try this:
UT / Screen Features/ screen device settings / screen USB memory slot / active
(There's also another one for the SD card slot)
Hope it helps!Comment

Re: Scan to USB question c5503
Insert USB device --> go to scanner screen --> Select "Store File" --> Choose "Store to media device" and hit OK --> Press Start. It will say "Do not remove - Writing", and then give you a "writing successful" message. Tried this on a C4502/ C4503/ MP 2554.
Not sure if the size of the USB device matters? I used a 30 Gig Verbatim USB.
EDIT: Didn't realize it said SOP until now, my directions are for Normal Op panel.
All firmwares up to date? They just released a small batch of firmware for the C3003 and up (System, Printer, Web support and Webuapl - for the NOP and SOP versions).OmertÃComment

Re: Scan to USB question c5503
Had this same problem, but on a MP C5502... 2 yrs ago, turned out to be the usb cable that feeds from the front panel to the back of the system.
Just all of a sudden quit recognizing the usb drive ??? I assume if the panel is moved frequently, can cause cracking in the wire itself.
It's a standard, but longer, usb type (phone charge cord- available on amazon) easy to test / check, just plug in the new cable on board and try a thumb drive.Comment

Re: Scan to USB question c5503
Replaced the original cable, has been fine since. Perhaps there was limited communication with the old cable. I'm only sharing my solution.Comment
