    aficio 2022

I know it is very old model but customer makes few copies.
When warms up it looks like overheated. press roller melt on heat. I swapted a fusing unit from an other working machine but it looks overheated again. I am thinking about power supply . Can it be something else?

Wow it is an old machine. If thermistors and thermostats were still good in both fuser units I'd try the power supply next but I've also had melted pressure rollers when there was an actual problem with electricity supply too. It's suppose to come up with an overheat error before it reaches high enough temps to melt anything so make sure the thermostats weren't bypassed/bridged out and also make sure the fuser drive is engaging and turning, I've had issues with broken hot roller drive gears and also the solenoid for the drive sticking and not kicking in

Would want to agree on bad power. Remember servicing the 3025 machines at rural schools with bad power doing the same thing.
      At the shop they behaved.

Good to check another ZA tech.
Are you at least doing some work?
Konica Minolta is not ever servicing clinics or police stations!
      Whatever

Hey Allan. Lol I think us ZA techs have all run into our fair share of funny electricity related issues. Not busy at all, had extremely bad timing quitting my job and then the lockdown happening before I started my new job and the new job being cancelled as a result of lockdown. Hope you're staying busy and your company doesn't take too much of a knock so your jobs stay secure

There is exactly one way that I know of to melt the pressure roller to the hot roller. The customer has been told or shown how to clear fusing unit Service Codes. The following sequence occurs:
            1. The machine throws an over heat code.
            2. The customer immediately clears the code and starts using again.
            3. Machine codes again.
            4. Sequence repeats until the machine over heats to the point where the pressure roller surface melts.

              Have had this problem quite a few times never had power supply problem {doesn't mean its not the power supply} I I've ever done is rebuild fuser all oem parts and correct for this model never use cheap China parts {rubbish}

                Got to love Eskom.

Hey you know you will always find a job again if things start up, just a pity this county does not pay techs properly.
Gone semi independent a year or two ago, do some retainer work in Durban for a guy up in JHB and make some ok money on cash work and toner sales.
For now and the next month or so if things goes to plan there will be nothing coming in!
But for now all my machines are dead still and no essential business to speak of.

                Any experiance on KonMin?

I have started to distance myself from this industry.... at 63 I have found past skills to be valuable.. and lend me time to pursue other interests/hobbies.
Perfect timing for the covid to hit... for me.

                      That should be me apologizing.

So in summary. Gab should fix the machine
If he checks the fuser drive, finds himself a multi meter and a power supply then he should be ok.

Unfortunately no experience at all on KM but was referred to them by an ex colleague that does and do have a CV at sitting on a desk at KMSA head office right now, also have a few others floating around.

The plan was to try and make a move to NZ, Ireland or UK by June and was just looking for a temp position to keep busy while I secure a job and finalize the paperwork but Covid19 has other ideas.

Hope your business starts picking up ASAP and you pull through this fairly unscathed.

Same goes for everyone else too
