    Sp9100dn

    Dear all,
I need support on Ricoh sp9100dn, when I want to print counter or configuration page machine start paper comes at registration and machine continuously runs for 1.5 minutes and after that machine exit blank paper and machine generates sc990.

First when I reached that machine it generates sc865 which is HDD error, to format HDD I try to enter service but machine not enter in service mode so I replace HDD.
HDD which installed in machine is 80gb and I replace it with 40gb after replacing of HDD machine easily enter in service mode and I format HDD successfully after that above sysmtom comes.
I also swap complete drum unit from another machine but same symptoms on that unit.
    Kindly guide me.
    Thanks.

    YOU HAVE SEVERAL ISSUES HERE:
    1) what size / weight / orientation of paper should be 1st cassette LTR plain

anything other than that you will get a jam code

    2) formatted HDD did you init it?
did you load firmware for the machine?

seems your knowledge of this machine would improve if you located a SERVICE MANUAL for the machine and then STUDY it.

have you ever been trained on a Ricoh unit... any unit?

A4 size 80gsm plain paper is used in 1st tray

No machine generates sc990. No jam code

      2) formatted HDD did you init it?
      Yes

did you load firmware for the machine?

      No

I read service manual and there is no information for sc990.

have you ever been trained on a Ricoh unit... any unit?
      Yes I have training of
      Mp1350
      Mpc5000
      Sp8200

This may be an issue. I have replaced HDD's with a slightly larger one with no issues, but not the other way around. The machine may require at least a 80gb HDD volume to function correctly. Just a thought.

Agreed, you can only go up in capacity, not down.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

          Hit it.

Which issue, the SC 865 or the SC 990?

SC 990 is a software error.
              Reflash al firmware.
              Replace RAM DIMM modules
              Replace NVRam
              Replace BICU/Controller
Check your AC line condition. Surges, sags, spikes and RF noise can blow electronic components. If you do not have a quality line conditioner installed, install one. If you do have one and it is more than 2 years old, replace it. They are a lot less expensive than frequently replacing boards.
