was getting sc-329 (laser unit error) changed to a gest.-745 unit & swapped front board to original from the ricoh-2035 cause connectors are different. now it's giving me a sc-690. is it still the laser unit, because of the front board ? please help. thanks

The manual says :
690 A GAVD block I2C bus error
An error is detected in the GAVD communication I2C control register of the GABIC2.
I2C bus on BICU defective
Don't know exactly what this means, but I think it has to do something with the connection between the Laser Unit and the BICU-board.
Make sure you use Ricoh parts for Ricoh machines. Sometimes parts are different while they look the same.
