    ricoh 1515. bangin noise

    ive come acrosss this problem alot on these small machines. sounds like a tooth missing on a gear o summat, but i jus cant figure out which one it is and whereabouts these gears are.

    I had one in the workshop where an apprentice had over tightened the screws that hold the fuser unit into place and causing it to break the plastic frame that the bracket sits in. It hadn't completley broken off but was cracked slightly. When the fuser turned it would move just a little and make a banging noise like you described. fixed it with good old superglue.

      check right hand door and its components, especially the transfer roller, the gear does not always mesh and bounces.

        yes - sometimes the bushing/holder of the transfer roller breaks - barely noticeable because it's usually just a tiny crack

          Does anybody have the part number for this bushing @ transfer roller? I have service manual, but not parts...

                    the grease trick will work..only for a while..you will be changing out the transfer roller soon.

                      The customer is already being sized up for a new model - 1515 also have fuser roller issues, (no contract) so I bet he'll bail out and seed some other options before I have to replace transfer roller
