"just..." ?
For no offend sir, but I don't see how i can do this properly.
Of course i can clean it with a dry cloth through the small entrance of the gab, but is that the only way?
You know that after a certain time a bleu greasy layer smear appear on the surface of a mirror.
And we need to remove that smear through this small gab with a dry cloth, without damaging something?
you have ozone build up.(blue greasy film) Clean the mirrors with window cleaner then apply Rain-X AntiFog to the mirrors .. doesn't affect copy quality but lessens the chance of ozone buildup.
can you pull the platen glass? if so, with power off move the mirrors to make it easier to clean. return mirrors to home position before power on.
Don't remove the scaner ass , just remove only a plate and then clean . If it is too dirty apply cleaner we use for windows and then with dry cloth or soft paper. Try not to leave resedues of cloth or paper.

There is a small gab at the top of this scanner unit.
Do i need to clean the mirrors through that small gab?
Or do i remove the upper cover (seems to contain the expo lamp)?
Thank for your help.

Scanner as in optics you don't want to remove cleaning isn't a problem

Hoi,
I know how to loosen the scanner block (which hold the mirrors) and flip it over...
But to clean the mirrors, is it necessary to remove this scanner block totally?
Or can i clean it in this "flip over" position?
The service manual is not clear about this issue.
I like to know "how to..." before i go to customer.
Thanks for your help!
