    MPC2800 - Tray 1?

    Hi all,
I need to use A4 in Tray 1 of my MP C2800.
I've got the tray setup for it, but in service mode I can't find where to change Tray 1 to A4.

On my 3245C it was 1902, and on the C2800 that number is Amplitude control.

Tray 1 is letter only. Change tray 2 to A4 in User tools>SS>tray sizes.

Per the Product Support Guide, Tray 1 will accept A4 LEF and 11x8.5 LEF, as well as A5 LEF and B5 LEF by using the SP modes to force the size.

SP 5181-001 is for Tray 1.

      0: A4 LEF
      1: LT LEF
      2: B5 LEF
      3: A5 LEF

Rorschach, that looks like the right thing to set, but it didn't work.

When I entered '0', and hit # (enter), the box around the number appeared. I rebooted the machine, and tray 1 is still Letter. Went back in to SP to check 5181, and it still displays the 0.

I'm not sure what to do next.

A4 is possible in tray 1.

Notice that Tray 1 is not displayed in this image?

You could change the machine to metric version but then you're probably screwed on the other trays. I'd just put the A4 in Tray 2 and be done with it.

Relax! This firmware injection won't hurt...but it will take 45 minutes.
