    SPC 820 Black drum

    Hi all,
I have been asked to find the part number for a black drum unit for model SP C820DN. I don't know why as we have never sold one of these before, must be a new sales lead.
On the parts manual it shows the picture of all 4 drums, shows the part numbers for all 3 colours but the black one is greyed out and does not have a part number...why?
After googling it, I saw several sites selling it with the part number 403115. After typing that onto Ricoh UK it says - 403115 PCU TYPE 820 BLACK FOR SP C820DN (1PC/EDP) CHINA
Does this mean it is for the chinese version only?
Also looking at the picture of the machine it looks like an old MPC 2500 but without the DF attached to it... so would the drum just be the classic B224-2042 drum that used to fit MPC 2500/2800/4500/4501 etc ?

Indeed, you'll have to check the sales pricelist - Black PCU (including drum) is a consumable for the SPC series and not a sparee part, same for color pcu, transfer belt, fuser.

403115 looks good for EU if you google that EDP number.

Am I correct in thinking that this is basically just something like MPC 2500 or 2800 but without scanner/df on top. It is just a printer version of it?
If that is the case it would surely use the B224 2042 PCU as well?

SPC820 print engine is based of the MPC2800 iirc but you probably can mod the b224 drum to fit in case you have some overstock you need to get rid off. Otherwise I'd go with the "official" PCU - I think it wasn't pricey and it does include the black dev unit. B224-2042 is just the drum unit without dev.

All in all this is a pretty outdated model from somewhat 2008, always a high risk that other stuff goes downhill.

Yeh I thought it looked like one of those models, why would you want that without probably paying a little extra to be able to copy, scand and fax etc?
Anyway I'm not even sure why I have been asked to find out this info, maybe someone has one and the drum has gone wrong and they want to know whether it is worth buying a new one or just ditching it for a new machine from us.
I do still have about three of the B224 2042 drums left, funny that I used to fit at least 1 of these drums a week maybe 8 years ago but I haven't fit a single one in the last 2 years now so if this person needs one I can probably mod it and fit it for cheaper if they wanted to go that route. I'd prefer not to but...depends what any of this is even for!
          Thanks for the info, Gift

Always keep a B224 2042 in van as can mod for any colour on machines from old mpc3500 to mpc5502
