Take the back off the machine, swing the controller board out (nifty feature) and vacuum out the toner supply pipes in the back, one's gotten blocked.

If that doesn't work, the clutch in the toner supply motor has probably gone so you'll need a new one.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Hit it.

When the firmware doesn't fix it, you will need to perform an engine clear.
Don't take that toner with me!

          Oh dear.....
You need to Vac out the toner pipes , clean out the toner sensor and Aten Pcb and remove and vac out all the pumps. Once done COPY the NVRam on to SD card. Print of non standard data and do ALL/Memory clear.
Re enter ALL the non stanadard data and carry out a reg set up.

You should be ok after that.

NVRam should write to the Toner bottle but fails. Machine does not now if the toner is coming or going. It is known to Ricoh but there is not a RTB out for this fault.
          Good luck.

I agree with this and would gor this first. Last I had this as couple of months ago on the same machine I had to replace the clutch and problem was solved.
Good luck and happy feasts to all
