Hi guys
I have a ricoh mp 6001 giving me a lost of codes after start up,strarts with sc142 then sc202 then sc490.I have replaced all boards at the back bcu ipu controler ect and I have tried starting her with the tandem tray fuser duplex dev tank and drum unit outDoes anybody have any ideas???

You might want to start with the last code you listed, SC490 Main Fan error. Without proper air circulation any of the items listed for SC142 and SC202 could failing due to overheating.

When the last time the copier filter and the ozone filters replaced or any other filter for that matter?

drum ground issue. pull the drum unit, clean the cavity, stretch out the ground spring on the back of the pcu.

you replaced all those bd's WITHOUT really defining WHAT the actual problems were.. why do techs think ' it's gotta be the boards ' .

waste of time and money IMHO to start 'shotgunning' the repair process.

should have followed the manual for the error codes.

Sc142 White level detection error. optical section. Sc202 Polygon mirror motor error. Laser section. Sc490 Main fan motor error. Engine section.
When you have different sc in different sections with no connection between them, you have 4 possibility.

1: All the components indicated by the Service Code are defective. Not so often
2: Power supply pb; The power is not sufficient to run the machine; Check voltages out the power supply and also the socket on the wall 220V or 110v.
3: Ground pb. Take off the drum; look inside the drum you'll see a small piece of metal; Make sure that this little piece of metal is in contact with the axe
which go threw the drum, when it's on the machine.
Check also the ground connector of the transfer belt unit.
4: May be I'm wrong.

I find it amazing why do must of users that have errors codes just start by replacing pwb's it's hardly never the boards but that also means they just happen to have a spare machine to use boards

they DO NOT read the manual

the refuse to go to the LOGICAL form of troubleshooting

it hardly ever is a board

they waste time/money and piss the customer off when they can't get it to work
