Hi people.
Any one knows if charger roller of Kyocera M3550idn (302LV93010) works on Ricoh MP501?
I would bet $$ on it.
I'm not speaking from experience, but from what I understand, it's basically the identical machine as it relates to mechanics, etc.
I know the toner/ pcdu etc. aren't interchangeable due to chips/ electronics, but I've heard things like feed roller assys are the same

yup. I worked at a kyocera and ricoh dealer. We could get the kyocera parts cheaper, so we would use what we could. About the only difference between the two is the toner is keyed differently. The drive gear for the toner is different also.

Sound like the difference between the toner bottles for the Pro 1356 printer and the Pro1357EX MFP. The little bumps on the drive flanges were positioned slightly different. Ricoh got some new workers in the warehouse once who took them out of their shipping boxes and threw them all in one bin together.

You can cut or grind the keys off and make it a universal cartridge. But be careful not to cut too much off or you'll have a leaky cart. I'm talking about a universal cart for serveral Kyocera models, not the Ricohs since the drive gears are different. You can also buy a universal chip that works for the following: 3550, 3551, 4550, 4551, 5550 and 5551ci.

I've only just recently put my first couple of low meter used MP501's.
Can I take this to mean that I could order a Kyocera PM kit and install it in the MP501 without issue?
There is no difference or mods required for Drum/dev/ fuser that I assumed/thought there was? The cost is basically a fraction of what those parts are from Ricoh.
Although I assume the toner cartridge drive gear discussed above would be an issue?

I don't know about changing the drive gears. What you could do is put the toner from the Kyocera cart into the used Ricoh cart and put a universal chip on it. That can get messy. I have a toner cleaning station that I use but it's expensive. Doesn't make sense if you're not doing a lot of them.

Well based on the length of the stated PM schedule, and where I've placed these units so far, I don't expect to be doing much of anything.

Unless they have done something to change it, yes you should be able to use a pm kit. When the Ricohs first came out, mother Ricoh never had toner for one of our accounts. We threw in a Kyo drum and kyo toner. Worked like a charm. We then changed the final toner coupler between the Ricoh and kyocera and used lanier toner in a kyo drum. Our mgr did not want us to give kyo toner to a customer using a Ricoh box. I guess this was understandable. This was a few years ago though. I've left that company. I don't think we sold many 501's because the Kyo's were the same but cheaper.

Copier toner carts are a piece of cake to rebuild. You really don't rebuild them...you just clean them out and refill 'em and put a chip on them. The only thing is that you need to drill a hole in the carts to get the toner in there. I made a homemade jig that I use so as not to damage the cart when drilling the hole. For HP, Lexmark, ect., they are a different story. You have to replace everything...PCR, mag. roller, Drum, blade. But they do make a professional jig for those. And instructions.

Hi guys, charger roller works fine.
I put Kyocera MC-3100 charger roller on Ricoh MP501 and works fine and the price it's much more low then the Ricoh.
Thanks for all.
