    Ricoh MPC4504 Scanning Issue

We have an account with an MPC4504 that is unable to scan using Office 365. We have done all the usual IT troubleshooting but the scan will not leave the Ricoh the machine says please wait.

Anybody have any suggestions and is anyone having these same issues with Office 365?

    Thanks

Have you tried using the MX record on port 25 with no authentication? Input the customer's domain at mxtoolbox.com, it will come back with something like companyname-co-uk.mail.protection.outlook.com.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Hit it.

There are two things you can try:

      1. The official methods for scan to email from Microsoft: How to set up a multifunction device or application to send email using Microsoft 365 or Office 365 | Microsoft Docs which should work for a C4504, since it will support modern TLS.

      or

      2. Have the customer's IT setup and configure STunnel or a sever or small workstation. This will be a good option if there are older MFP's or applications that also need to scan.

        recheck the network setting
        IE gateway

There IT can also setup a mail relay in Office 365 IE connecter.

Also admin email should be the same as sender

I have next to no experience configuring scan to email via office 365, but I have seen some recent threads indicating that changes were coming to MS office, such as 2FA.
          Could this be the issue?
For example, in Gmail , you can only scan to email once 2FA is enabled, and then an APP password for the device is created and used (that is unless you enable ' use less secure apps - which is a horrible idea!).
          Just a suggestion....

The only time I had to setup a scan to Office 365 the IT service for the customer was very familiar with problem and already had the relay service setup, Option 3. He provided us with all the settings to use.

Microsoft has stated that they won't be making any changes to authenticated SMTP, which is what scan to email uses. To receive mail you may need 2FA before long, but to send, username and password will be sufficient. MS also has tools to also enable SMTP AUTH for specific accounts, so the feature may need to be turned on for the account in question.
