    [Error Code] Pro 8100 - SC382

    Hey guys..
I keep getting an SC382 error code on one of our Pro 8100s machines.

    I've tried replacing:
    -potential sensor
    -drum
    -drum cleaning unit
    -developer
    -development unit
    -charge corona unit
    -IOB
    -laser
...among other unrelated parts, but still no luck in clearing the error.

All these parts seem to be good since I've tested them on another 8100 with no issues.
I'm not sure where else to go from this point. Any suggestions on what else I could try?

    Thanks in advance!

Check the grounding strip behind the flywheel. Might be loose or dirty.

Service manual for the Pro8200 also recommends "Window on the probe of the potential sensor is dirty, covered with toner" and "Check the harness, connectors between the IOB and potential sensor for damage, loose connection." How long after you replaced the potential sensor did the error come back? You could be getting toner scattering that is contaminating the window on the sensor.

Visually inspect the PCDU drawer connector, both drawer side and main frame side, for dirty or damaged pins.

        Hey again guys,

Thank you all for your suggestions, first of all!
Unfortunately, after swapping parts and wire harnesses, and short of rebuilding the entire machine with all new parts, nothing seemed to be doing the trick.
As a last ditch effort, we tried a "Memory Clear" (SP5801), and lo and behold, SC382 went away and hasn't come back.
I'm sure this isn't the ideal solution for problems like this, but in this case, it was the only things that got us back up and running.
If only all problems in life could be solved with a "Memory Clear"...

        Thanks again!
