You need to set SP5193-001 in "1", and SP5895-001 in "1", then switch off and on the copier. Check with another ethernet cable if it fails again. Good Luck!

The native printer and fiery cannot co exist. You can enable native (GW) scanning but print will fail. Also the Fiery gigabit card has to be removed and the above sp programs switched. The error is probably because there is a mismatch.

SC899 is most likely being caused by a corrupted print job. As long as that job is still queued to be printed, when you turn the copier back on the error will be generated, AGAIN. To verify, turn the Pro 5100 off, disconnect the network cable and turn the Pro 5100 back on. If I am correct the error will not occur until you reconnect the cable and you will need to determine what computer the job is coming from. Quite possibly someone trying to print a web page that has strange font or moving image the 5100 can not interpret. If it is they can try print preview and print the page from the preview screen. Make sure all firmware is up to date as SC899 is often firmware related.

Hi thanks for the reply, appreciated it.
so what your saying the copier can only use one or the other. i presume it has a direct cat 5 cable in the network socket to just read the meter readings and toner levels etc on its printmib software

I've only worked with a few Fiery's but I'm fairly certain you just download the Fiery controller driver off the Ricoh website and then for the IP put the IP of the fiery. Then when they want to direct print without going through command centre they just select the Fiery printer in their list.

When you search for drivers on the 5100s the fiery engine driver should show up as well.

Yes. Meter reads, and native scan (ie using the native scanner screen and not fiery scan). Printer, the Fiery "replaces" the embedded print controller so to speak. You can disable the fiery in SP and remove the Gigabit NIC card and use embedded (never actually tried on this model but that's how it is on all the others)
