    2232c dupe fit on 3228c?

    Will a 2238 duplexor work on a 3228?

I have a customer who's duplexer is jamming/crinkling only on letter duplexes.(not legal or ltr-R, just letter)

Before I take this 2232 duplexer out there I just wanted to see if they were the same.

    TIA

The part numbers of the units are different...even for the PCB and motors. So I would say no.

I know they look the same but if you want risk frying something in the copier...go for it and let us know if it works.

Relax! This firmware injection won't hurt...but it will take 45 minutes.

If it crumples up in one corner and always in the same place, check the mylars in the duplex inverter. They get chewed up and sit in the paper path. Generally you can just yank them out and not have an issue.
This should save you some scratch as opposed to replacing the entire duplex unit.

I agree, the firmware p/n is different and the mylars are usually at fault.

Okay cool, I took off two at the right side and one on the left (they seemed a bit curled in towards the machine.

It seems okay now, it doens't make the crinkling sound either which it always did just before the jam.

            Thanks for ya'alls help
