    Aficio 3235C Fails to duplex

Hello, all. Any ideas on this one?

Ricoh 3235C-shared network printer--when printing from Word and other Office apps and told to duplex it will not duplex. Updated the PCL 5c driver on the server, restarted, same issue. Updated to PCL 6 and same issue. Server is Windows Server '03. One workstation had a local connection to the mfd but using the RPCS driver. Did everything wonderfully, but from the same workstation it experienced the same issue when printing thru the shared driver.

Any Ideas? Tomorrow I am going to install the RPCS driver to the server, share it, and see what happens, and vice versa with the PCL with a local connection. Probably print to it via my laptop prior to all of that, just ran out of time today.

Ive seen a similar problem when installing a print driver; it didnt see the sorter stapler etc until it was set up in the driver under a tab I cant remember. My particular customer tried the RCPS driver too with the same results....problem was no admin rights to make changes.

Thanks for the reply. The machines accessories are listed and applied in the accessories tab. It sees everything, allows you to make the selections, but the end result is un-duplexed output.

Just a tip you probably know......Make sure you have all the lastest versions of all these drivers as well.

I don't know how many times I have run into this where a driver version has fixed these weird problems.

        Regards

Will it duplex from a pdf? That may help point to where the issue lies...

Thanks Old Frog Eyes for the reply. I did already know that, though, and the machine has the booklet finisher attached. I didn't get to make it out there today, I'll go Monday.

              Thanks to all who replied!

I go with Old Frog Eyes with this.
Check the default output tray is the internal tray in user tools.
If it is set to external it ignores the duplex function.

Does this happen only out of the MS Office products? What happen if you try to print a duplex job with something else (notepad or the adobe reader for example). Sometimes the internal MS office paper handling settings can be a pain in the ass.
