    Hehe - this is weird...

RX stands for receiving so I don't understand why you have to push this button to transmit (=TX) anything. Besides that there is maybe a handling difference between machines with and without DF - I can't tell beause I've never seen this configuration.

In case of doubt you can try to do a factory reset inside the fax sp to reset all settings/parameters.

i've only seen the 161mfp's with the adf, so I think the platen cover must be messing with the settings. Because the machine does not know when the fax pages are all done, don't you have to press the # button or something to confirm that all of the pages have been scanned and are ready to transmit?

So, is it on immediate or memory transmission? I'd think that the immediate transmission on a platen cover 161 would be weird, so I'm guessing it's set to memory transmission, but you should still have to confirm all pages before they are sent.

Double check your transmission and receiving settings, as it may be sent to manual receive.

These settings should all be in your user mode->fax settings area, and unless you're adventurous, I wouldn't mess with the bit switches unless the fax settings area do not fix your problem.

I try the all bit switch reset - Ram installize, Erase all file. And I check the area setting. But problem is same.

I'm sure that the 'missing' DF is the problem. The machine must require the interface for proper functioning. Normal faxing can be performed from the glass at least when the DF is present, just like 'School' says you normally just press "#" after last page.
These machines were only sold with DF's, so it must have been removed by someone for use on another machine or something??
Question: What is in the place of the DF feed-in section? Platen cover does not cover this area, so is there another cover of some sort?
Just wondering what this machine must look like?
