There is a situation that I actually seen where a fax is sent to one line and at the end the sending machine hook flashes instead of hanging to make the next call. This places the first call on hold. When the second call ends the 2 destinations are then conferenced together. Actually it was 2 dictation machines but the concept is the same.

If the fax volume is truly that high, perhaps a fax server would be a better solution, rather than trying to cobble together an MFP or standalone fax option.

We had a customer one time that was a rather busy doctor's office in an outlying community. They saw a lot of patients fro a large medical group in Bakersfield who would fax them records for their patients using a fax server. Each fax was anywhere from 25 to over 50 pages. When one finished it would disconnect long enough to prevent hook flashing and send another. Before the first one had finally exited the finisher the next one was ringing in. Had to wait almost an hour one time just to do some servicing. Server to server would have been mush better and saved a lo of paper as they would only have to print what absolutely needed to be printed.
