It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.
Hit it.Comment

Re: Different Counters in SP mode - user mode
It appears the machine has fax installed. That is why the B/W total is more than the total of printer B/W and copier B/W. The counter page only gives the billable counts. It does not include system printouts like the fax results pages or even the counter prints. And it does not include anything printed while in service mode. The numbers in SP mode are true counts of everything that exits the unit.Comment

Numbers in user mode are almost identical to 7803-01. User mode: 131.407 pages, 7803-01: 131.372 pages.
I guess this difference can be explained by me printing out 22 sheets or 42 pages of SMC reports and other reports. And some before me may have done some printing there too
However, 7803-02, Page:PCU:BK are at 218.733. And in addition to this, 7906-01, previous Page:PCU:BK are at 91.683. Why can this be? Those two counts are at a combined ca 310.000 pages.
Or aren't those numbers pages at all, but something else?Comment

I had a look at the numbers for mine machine, MPC2051. It has no fax installed.

Re: Different Counters in SP mode - user mode
My manual states that A3 is double counted though, but even if the machine had exclusively printed out in A3 format I cant get the numbers to add up. Am I missing something? And Mark Bbb too.
Is it possible to somehow reset the user numbers and the 7803-01 number?Comment

Re: Different Counters in SP mode - user mode
The total B/W+colour is about 131.000 pages, both in user mode and in 7803-01. While the black PCU are at ca 219.000 pages, and the previous black PCU are at about 92.000 pages

Re: Different Counters in SP mode - user mode
Anyway, for what it's worth, did some testing.
7803-01, counts +1 for every page printed, regardless of paper size, double sided counts +2 ofc.
7803-02, counts +1 for A4, both SEF and LEF, counts +2 for A3, double sided counts +2/+4 for A4/A3, counts for both B/W and color.
7803-03/04/05, same as 7803-02 except don't count on B/W ofc.
7803-14, counts same as 7803-02
Not much of surprice here I guess.
For me, I learned something new at least
Edit:
I have not tested which counts do not increase when printing reports for example.Comment

Re: Different Counters in SP mode - user mode
Thanks for additional info, it is beginning to make sense now, for my machine at least, that there probably have been som replacement done in a previous life where som counters have not/could not be restored.

on the users list any service reports or when put in service test mode shouldn't show...

Re: Different Counters in SP mode - user mode
There is also the mechanical lease counter. Might be located under the lower right inside front panel. Usually has has tape covering the opening in the panel. Disconecting t will cause an error if you try to copy or print.Comment
