Ricoh W2201 PCL doesnt like PDFs

    [Misc] Ricoh W2201 PCL doesnt like PDFs

    Hey all I have never experienced this until last week when I was installing a newish Ricoh on the network. It doesn't print PDF anything. I am using the Ricoh non Universal drivers since the others i have done (w2200) dont like the universals.
    the end user cannot print PDF but is able to print anything and everything else. Anyone have any ideas?

    Drivers that are on the server are Ricoh W2201 32bit and 64 bit v4.31

      I have always installed wide formats using the PS3 driver, and I have not had any problems with it.

          Same here this is the first issue I have had I even tried to use it with "Gestetner" like have done with the w2200 works with those and it has no issues. So i was not sure if there was something i was/am missing with the w2201. The print queue has no restrictions on any print... my next step is to call Ricoh Help and see what they can do.

              If I remember correctly from those I have installed, the W2200 and W2201 only support PostScript.

                  Here is an excerpt from the W2201 PSG. No PCL drivers are supported.

                      Server is unfortunately Win2008 R2. which for them its a few years out from being decomd.

                      I am half tempted on putting this on to sticking the print queue on to a test Win 2016 r2 and see if the problem persists.

                          Have you tried installing it on the individual computers that will be printing to the CW2201?

                              Yes mine for testing ip and print queue both work on my laptop and I am not even close to 100 miles of the building I do this for testing via direct ip however the account doesnot allow it long term. I am now leaning more to Adobe and PDF it self.
