User codes on Mac OS X??

I can get around on a MAC prettty well, connect network printers....etc., and I did recently buy one. Today I was asked to add user codes to a network running an Aficio CL7000. Thinking nothing about it, I set up all of the PC's then went to the 3 Macs. I couldn't find the spot to enter a code anywhere!...long story short, The CL7000 does not seem to support user codes on MAC.
I do want to try a driver from a newer model that I now know does support them, and see if it will still print to the CL7000, but that's another day.
My question here is even the models that support user codes have 3 defaults programmed in..."1001", "1002", and "1003", and you can't add/change them??? First of all...what is the point of that? but more importantly, I've been trying to figure outfor HOURS now how to add / change these. I have seen some documentation on editing the PPD file etc. I still can't seem to grasp exactly how to edit it. Any MAC gurus out there that can either explain clearly what to do to edit the PPD, or better yet, offer an alternative way to allow the programming of user codes to either a CL7000, , or any other model.
I would HUGELY appreciate any help.
    Thanks

Well it felt good to vent my frustration above anyway....If anyone is interested, I just thought, that I'd re-post that the SP C811Dn driver for MAC works perfectly with the CL7000, and does not use pre-programmed codes, but rather has the capacity to accept whatever you like.
Why would Ricoh not update their other Drivers to allow for this. None of the CL7000 thru CL7300 will accept user codes, even though the drivers have been updated withn the last year?

Well, it wasn't that your post was ignored; it was that I think none of us had even come anywhere close to running into user codes with that driver on that printer, along with the fact that most of us are not regular Mac users.

It's good that you found a workaround for the problem. Even with Windows drivers, I don't use user codes for printing. I've found that for most users, just getting them to realize that a copier can print is a MAJOR leap forward, and showing them how to duplex, staple, etc. is a phenomenal undertaking in itself.

I would have suggested to either reload everything or to begin trying other drivers. From the small amount I've messed with Mac, mostly with Konica products in small print shops, the drivers were somewhat limited in what they could do.

        Hey 'School',
I didn't mean to sound as if I was being ignored, kind of expected no response on that one -at least right away.....like I say sometimes it's just nice to vent, and 'hey", you never know.
I haven't actually set up too many machines with user codes, anbd I thought that I was in deep once I got to the "MACS". This client wanted it for department billing, I also think they thought that someone in the office was using the machine as their personal "print shop"
As much as I have come to appreciate the difference in MACS, the print driver dialogue boxes really leave A LOT to be desired! I mean, it is a true pain in the ass to do anything outside of the defaults

        Thanks for listening "School".....lol

          @ Sandman

Hey man, I believe I have set that up before. Give me a couple of days to find the customer that has the set up. Not the CL7000 but close enough. Let you know in a couple days (sorry I can't narrow the timeframe down more).

Oops, I didn't mean for my post to sound that way.

Yeah, sometimes it's good to just talk about things. One, it gets it out, and two, it can help give the problem a different perspective. I talk all the time outloud when I'm working on stuff. I tell people not to worry about it. As a tech, I think much of our time is spent in front of boxes, so there are those moments when quiet time really isn't really "quiet time."

            No worries.
