    Double-reversing Duplex MPC2800

    Hi

with reference to this support doc, I was wondering if there is a setting to double-reverse on a duplex print.

As seen, when a tray has pre-printed letterhead, and the tray is filled for single sided prints, when an occasional duplex print is made, the back-and front are reversed.

If one logically thinks about the way the paper flows, it is obvious this is on purpose: To ensure the page-sides end up in the out bin in the correct sorting order, the printer flips the sides in software to counter the fact they are also flipped physically. Very useful for blank paper.Very dangerous for letterheads.

Is it somehow possible to, for a specific tray, disable the software flip and/or double the physical reverse? It would cost either sorting order or print speed, but for the occasional duplex print, this would be preferable over having printed on the wrong side.

Oh, and BTW, just for knowledge sake, in reference to the same support page: Does anyone know why the glass exposure for scan and copy is upside down?

    Thanks

I think the document explains the process quite well. It's the way it was designed...no getting around that, that I know of. It just takes some getting used to.

If you are using the RPCS driver use the "Overlay" function in the RPCS driver and create a quick icon setting it to print both the color letterhead and the body text on the first page only. This will save the customer from paying for preprinted letterhead. They will eventually thank you. Mine have.

As for the orinentation of glass vs df scanning...It's all done with smoke and mirrors as far as I know. You would have to ask the designers this question. I know of no way to change this. The customer just needs to be trained. Maybe someone else here has a better idea???

Relax! This firmware injection won't hurt...but it will take 45 minutes.

You're right, it must be using smoke inside. Because if I accidentally let the smoke escape, it doesn't work anymore.
