Secondly, my post that you're quoting is a reply/alternative option to using a USB cable (most of us have wandered completely off topic in this thread)

Thirdly, I am fully aware that the age of cloud, IoT and wireless everything is upon us but Ricoh has monetized most of those features to my knowledge, I am fully open to being educated on this though since I have been stuck on site at a major account since the beginning of 2018 which runs a wired VLAN for all printers.

You can connect with usb Port or you can connect direct from Lan Cable with Range Ip same IP of Printer (ex: 192.168.1.x)
(Download driver before connect to printer)

And about the WiFi option you asked about up there. I have never dealt with a WiFi option card. I saw one once but it wasn't installed and sitting in stock, was years ago and for a AF1224c or 3232 if I'm not mistaken, the option is simply too expensive this side of the world, after converting to local currency any other alternative is a fraction of the cost.

Wifi option is indeed too expensive - you can use a TPLINK TL-WR802N pocket router or something like this instead if you need a wifi connection at your printer.

1. We don't like wireless, it is a magnetic field that goes through your body and brain. That doesn't seem good to me and many others (at least here in Europe). We trie to avoid it as much as possible. We recommend customers to wire their network, also for safety Matters.
2. We are specialist in MFP & network printer instillation's, we are no IT company
3. The reason why i posted this treat is to inform my colleges to better have a router in a network, for easier set up.
4. So, whatever your opinion is, i did not ask for it, keep it to yourself next time.

Nah I don't see any aluminum hat carriers around anymore and everyone (well. 99%) owns stuff like cellphones, wlan routers (with enabled wlan to connect at least the phones to avoid wasting mobile data quota) and last but not least - sales numbers for wireless equipment/smart home stuff in general goes through the roof, more and more of my friends owns this alexa crap stuff. Even most cheap printers from brother comes with has wireless out of the box.

I'm not a fan of WLAN/wireless myself but mostly because of performance, stability reasons.

I would guess they are using a modem / router device. Not sure about over the pond, but in The States, they are everywhere. ATT, Spectrum, WOW, they all use them.

As to wireless printing, I ALWAYS recommend against it. Its not for magnetic fields (lol) but reliability. MFP manufactures tend to use the cheapest wifi USB dongle they can find a place on the box to plug it in. Some of these have a range of 20-25 feet, and that doesn't include walls or structures.

I take it that you don't use a cell phone or cordless home telephone. They both also use "a magnetic field" that operates in the same frequency range as WiFi. In addition you hold them right next to you head.

You are correct. Currently many of the "modems" are also wireless routers built in. They generally have one ethernet port for plugging in a switch if needed for wired devices. Depending upon how far the copier is from the "modem" you should be able to plug the copier into the ethernet port and away you go. If not, you could get a wireless bridge or wireless print server for the copier and hook it up wireless to the "modem" We do this all of the time, not too expensive. I don't know if Ricoh ever made their wireless adapters better, but they were a lot more expensive than a wireless bridge and didn't work worth a $h!T.

Main point is the "modem" is likely also a wireless router with an ethernet port for a switch or device (copier). You likely do not need a router since the computers are on a wireless network.

When i was phoned a lot on my cell phone at the end of the day my guts hurts on the spot where i kept my cell phone in a little bag on my belt (right side).
I notice this pain already a few years ago.
In march 2020 I had an operation for cancer, they removed a tumor wright on that spot (large intestine).

Well, No way to escape EM fields. As a matter of fact, every human being on earth lives within one. This field (Schumann resonance) encompasses everything from the ground to the ionosphere, and vibrates at an average of 7.83 hz, and matches the operating frequency of the human brain. Pretty sure it's a symbiotic relationship with our old mother earth.

This is off target here, but I also believe the radiation produced by devices like phones and IOT wireless devices do cause cancer. I do not like to use my cell, I use it out of necessity. Cell phones and wireless technologies are relatively new in the short term of life. I would be curious to live 50 years more where the children of today are retiring adults. I wonder what their rate of brain cancer, etc will be compared to someone in their 60's today.

It brings back a fear of 40 years ago. Microwave ovens were very expensive and just starting to show up. I was 22 and saw my first microwave oven. The first thing I tried to cook?? A hotdog!!! My friend told me to set it for 1 minute. I set it for 5 minutes being that was how long it took on the stove to boil from a frozen state. (It was quite the excitement, it obliterated that hot dog. I later told my mom of my new experience. She told me never to use a microwave again because I might die of radiation poisoning. A few years later I got my first one also. I was doomed according to my mom. But a few years later guess who also got one and this time was excited about it?

Back to cancer.... we have radiation all around us everywhere hard to say what will do what to us. During electronics training we did some microwave transmission training in a lab. It was mainly transponder/receiver alignment lab. The transponder had a gate around it. I remember the lab instructor saying "If anyone wants to have kids someday, do not enter the gate without the power being down"

Don't be silly, 5G cell phones caused Covid-19, not cancer.....😛

Why spend your life worrying about such things when the land sea and air are filled with carcinogens and other nasty chemicals. Take a quick look into Dupont and how Teflon is made.

Even if you don't drink, smoke, eat right, AND exercise you have a 1 in 2 chance of getting some form of cancer in your lifetime. 50 / 50 so I think I might as well enjoy it while it lasts.

With stats like that, I am not worried about magnetic fields from solenoids or cell phones
