SC999 will come up in the machine if someone has dowloaded the wrong firmware onto the machine

To upgrade firmware on this machine you will need a program called ' Memory card explorer for Ricoh'. You will also need a 4mb flash card on which to write the files to.

If you've never upgraded the firmware before, it can be a bit of a pain until you've done it a few times.

MCE Ricoh for the program, then you need to select which IRQ port to use if I remember correctly. Then, with a PCMCIA card, you will erase and then 'push' the .bin file to the card via the program.

You have to have the .bin file from the tech support website. I do not have that firmware file.

Precision Roller still sells the PCMCIA cards for 60.00 or so.

        Here's what you need:

        1) PCMCIA card-best to use a laptop, as they usually still have these slots

        2) .bin file(s) from the tech website--you'll want to upgrade all of the firmware, which will require multiple writes on the card for the various firmware files.

        3) MCE Ricoh program-just follow the instructions to put the file on the card

Once the program is properly put on the card, the actual updating is easy. Getting the program on the card can be a little bit of a pain.

Can a dealer help you out? It would probably be cheaper than buying a machine, and they'll have it done quickly.
