    RICOH MPC8003 magenta background

    Hi everyone,
I have a costumer with a MPC8003, the copier has 1.038.000 b/w prints and 93.000 color prints. Last week the costumer called for magenta background behind color prints. I've done all SP 3011 (Manual ProCon, Density Adjustment and so on) and ACC, the quality has improved a lot but after a week the problem it's still there. Any suggestions?

It does it in copy mode too.
I disassembled PCDU M and vacumed the unit, there was nothing strange in it.
Color PCDUs have never been touched since cleaning unit and other parts have to be changed at 300k color prints

Try replacing the potential sensor, or swapping it with another color. Those are very flaky and can cause all sorts of backgrounding. Part # is D0143655. Cleaning with a brush may help as well, but the sensors are very sensitive.

You can get a build up of toner on the dev assy make sure you clean all sensors these machines need a lot of servicing.

Hi, I've swapped the potential sensor with the yellow one, after more than a month the problem seems to be resolved
