imc3000AZ - sometimes landscape orientation in portrait scanned documents

    Hoi,
They use a OCR program, but we don't know which (yet).
We still have no Octopus account (have asked it again, today), so we don't know if there is a RTB for this problem.
    Thank you for helping.
    Greetings.

Are they scanning as TIFF? Is the default scan settings set to Auto Colour Detect?

If their OCR program works with colour PDF, you can set the default scan settings to use Full Colour, as PDF auto-orientate.

Are you shure that OCS/Scan software doesn't have any "auto orientate" feature so this might not be a problem on your end? I'm not aware of any known issues in that direction.

They use the ocr software from Ricoh itself...
Ricoh told me to set sp2-031-001 on 1 and -002 on 1 (or 2 to check).
        No good.
Have Ricoh asked for a users manual...

Do you mean Ricoh's internal scan to OCR? If so, a sales person screwed them. Unless Ricoh has changed it completely from previous models it can take minutes per page to process.

It is the Ricoh OCR software.
A successful latest firmware upgrade did not solve this problem.
The user scanner manual say this (translated with a robot):
"Vertical direction correction in direction of scanned text: The vertical printing direction of the original is determined based on the printing direction of characters recognized by the OCR process."
Has anyone a good user manual of this OCR?

The scanner user manual says this about ocr (translated with a robot):
"The vertical print direction of a nearly blank page may not be determined correctly."
Could this be a link to the problem?
