    MP C4504EX Stuck Loading Firmware

Hello "know it alls" Thanks in advance! I was loading Firmware as I always do with an SD card into this C4504EX and it just got stuck loading the "Engine" section of it. Done this many times, however this time was different. It wont let me do anything. I put a new HD in, Pulled the Control Board out, re-seated the NV Rams, re-seated connectors, pulled the card out, re-booted. I cant even get into the service mode. Just sits there trying to load the firmware, but wont. Any suggestions to get this unit back to ready would be apprectiated. Laser801

It looks like you need to replace the controller. The HD won't be the cause, the machine should run without the HD. Can you still ping the machine?

Does it at least boot to the screen where the 'check status' icon is visible and you are able to bring up the keypad using the micro switch - even if it won't allow you to access SP mode?
I ran across a similar issue on an MP C4503 a little over a year ago, but of course it has the old style Op panel.
But if you're able to bring up the keyboard, I have some tips that may help.

Cant do a darn thing. I think it's the Controller as well. I have a couple other units like this at the office that I can use for parts. Goin on Vaca for a bit. I'm going to "forgetta bout it" till I return. Thanks for all. Appreciate it as always

Might be a corrupted SD card. If that is the case, you need a new SD card with a fresh download of exactly the modules as on the card you were using. Do a full reboot of the C4504EX and in should restart the firmware install. Last case option is to get an onsite visit from your regional rep with a recovery SD card.

I will surely try that before replacing the Control Board. Thanks for that! Let you know how it goes.

Try rebooting without the SD Card. You should get an E-3x error. You can then reset it with the special code. If that still fails then probably a BCU and EEPROM.

had this with a MP 4054....i turned off the machine accidentally during update...had to change the little NVRAM on the BICU (not the one on the controller), and worked for me.
