Richo MP W6700 wide format clicking/poping

Guys help me out, customers machine won’t add toner, it makes a poping noise like a gear is broke on developer Assembly but it’s not. I took it out and checked and it turns by hand. The mag roller and all turns.
Manual says toners added by ID sensor and it activates clutch in dev assm.
I was thinking toner was clogged up cause when I put it all back together it worked but it didn’t last but a few prints. Guess my shaking and jostling caused enough toner to fall into developer hopper to work a few times.
    any ideas ?
when it goes to add toner the bottle try’s to turn but I get a POP POP POP

With the development/toner supply used with that and similar models, I would say a problem with the toner supply clutch or the drive train for the clutch. Clicking could be a stripped gear jumping teeth.

There is a clutch that turns the toner, guess I could replace it.
The gears all look good visually.
think that clutch can cause a issue, like a POP….POP…..POP ?

With that type of toner drive, the stopper shaft will sometimes get toner residue and other contaminants on it which will prevent it from moving freely to engage the toner cartridge. The stopper then clicks or pops against the toner.

If the toner is stored on its end it will compact inside the bottle and the machine wont be able to turn the bottle. with the bottle out of the machine try turning it over manually to see if it moves freely, if not the toner is compacted. you will have to get it to turn over manually or try a new bottle

what are you referring to as “stopper shaft”? We’ve tried three different toners. It’s not the toner.

was there ever a fix for this. I have a brand new machine doing the same thing. The toner bottle is not staying locked into the tonersupplu section.if i hold the bottle in and trigger the switch while its open the noise does not occur. to fix the issue I stuck a piece of paper between the toner suplly holder and the toner bottle. The noise is gone but obvioulsly that is not a fix. LOL.

i have ordered the new toner thinking its maybe the bottle however im fearing it has something to do with the toner bottle hodler

This is the correct answer. You can never store this toner on end. The toner will pack itself into the bottom. Instruct your customers to shake the hell out of this toner before installing it in the machine.
