    Savin 2535 SC326 and 322 codes

Was able to adjust LD settings back to default and clean the mirrors and sensors in the laser unit. Charge bias has to be set near 2000 to get a clean copy but then the copies get progressively darker the more that you make. Cleaned the drum unit and charge roller and reset initial values and initialized the DV but there is no change. Drum is not that old and appears to be in good shape. Already replaced the xfer belt. Could this be the drum unit or is there something that I am missing?

Thank you very much for your time and effort in this matter.

Make sure the Developer bias is at default.
DV may be overtoned. What at the Vt, VSg and Vsp readings?

Did toner spill into the LD board? If so, the board itself may have been smoked. No matter how much you clean it will never be right again. Get the birth certificate, get a new LD and synch board and have fun re-loading the settings...

Thank you. Yes toner did spill onto the board. I was afraid it might be something like this. Thank you both for your timely responses!

Once you get toner on that board it tends to short something out or block something. Get both the LD and synch board (just to be safe) and do the laser synch procedure. It may take a little time, but it is worth it in the end.
I actually have a call on hold for the same thing right now.

Bitch adjustment? lol I'd agree, if toner has gotten onto the LD drive board it's pretty much had it.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

              Hit it.

Gary, I did the adjustment but I set the powers back to default before I did it. There were some issues with the machine but now that it has been used for awhile they seem to have gone away. Can I expect them to return at some point?

                Thank you for your response!!

These boxes are a pain for this. Due to the brilliant idea of having the toner hopper right above the laser unit.

The LD board is your most likely suspect but whilst you've got it out you might as well replace the sync board as well.

There is an outside possibility that it could be a problem with the door switches above the fuser, I've had one or two with laser codes that ended up being down to bad door switches.
