Cannot reach Ricoh IS 2416 via IP adress

I am trying to make scan folder on WIN 10. The problem is that I cannot reach copier IP. IP address is 192.168.100.223 but I cannot reach. What to do, where to search problem?
I see that LAN light is green on. I try to ping IP but no success. I did install copier via network and it work well. I also use USB to install another one and all work fine. I guess that I need network to do scan to computer. I cannot do it with USB???

I'm pretty sure you won't be able to scan to a Windows 10 folder from that machine, they probably haven't done any firmware for that model in about 10 years at least. It would only know the SMB 1 protocol and Windows security updates would stop allowing this a few years ago and it is highly recommended to leave it off.

What do you mean that you can't reach the IP address? You can't ping it? If so, that has nothing to do with SMB.

But like JayPaul said, an old machine uses SMB1 and it's probably pointless.

If you cannot ping, your not talking at all. Make mini network with laptop to ping. There is new SMB updates, but hard to get.

Now tell us what the IP address of the Win 10 computer is.

I'm pretty sure you won't be able to scan to a Windows 10 folder from that machine, they probably haven't done any firmware for that model in about 10 years at least. Is it old enough that it supports scanning to Scan Router and not scan to folder?

Usually the IS indicated a stand alone Image Scanner, often using Scan Router. There were also some that could be connected to a stand alone printer to use as a copier. Usually there was a frame assembly that the scanner set on top of and the printer was placed under.

Ahh.. Thanks for that Slimslob. Those aren't common in South Africa (Well to me at least).

He did say that he was able to set it up for printing on the network. I one thing I wonder is if he is using the correct network port. If it is one of the setups where the printing unit and the scanner are two distinct items connected together then both have network jacks and both have their own IP address. If he is connected to the port on the printer, then he will be unable to ping the scanner IP or connect to scan. If there is not another wired jack to use nearby, he may need to get a 5-port switch, less than $20.00 from numerous places online.

If you read his first post, he does say that he can't ping the machine.

He says try to ping but no success... but he also says 'I did install copier via network and it work well' which contradicts the no ping bit. How could it work well on the network if he can't even ping it?
It was only because he mentioned scanning that gave me a slight impression he set it up on the network fine (as a printer) but he can't get it to communicate with a folder that was set up via IP. It was only a theory, as he may have meant connection test to the folder instead of the word ping.

That is why I am thinking that the scanner IP and the printer IP are different. I have installed and worked on systems set up that way.

There's definitely a language barrier problem. The more times I read the post, the more questions I have. He also mentions that the copier/printer works fine via USB.
