    Aficio 700 large hdd

I have 2 Aficio 700 machines. I changed my original 10 Gb HDD with 40 Gb HDD, and I was especting that I would be able to scan 4 times more pages.
It is strange but the number of scaned pages are the same on 40 Gb HDD, like on 10 Gb HDD - 2000 pages.

Can anyone tell me what should be done to scan more pages on larger hdd?

First off, I'm pretty sure those came out of the box with a 40G. But secondly, you could put a 100 in it and it would still partition just what it needs. No changing.

The firmware is set to partition the drive in a very specific way - it will only reserve a certain amount of space for image storage. There is nothing you can do to change it other than rewrite the firmware.

Can you tell me where to find new firmware and how to change it.
Can it be changed by computer via printer or network port?

No such animal - I'm sure there are probably updated firmware versions available for your machine, but they are all designed to work with the OEM HDD.

If your question is what kind of disk, than my answer is that you can install any ordinary hard disk, but not sata.
