    MP 4054 SMB question

I have a customer that wants to get a time and date stamp when scanning to SMB folder. Cant seem to find a option under scanning or address book management. I usually deal with Kyocera which has that function and my Ricoh is a bit rusty. Greatly appreciate for your help.

    Thank you

What is wrong with using the creation date/time for the file in the folder. It will be the date/time that the file was written to the folder. If the file has been copied/moved to another folder then they can use the "Modified" date/time in the file properties.

There IT person is the one who does not like it. They are use to different brands of machines and looks like ricoh is the only one that does not use time/date stamp when scanning to smb automatically, so my question is there a way to set it up to do that so you dont have to input info on every scan this is why I'm asking.

You need to be talking to the owner/manager and find out what they company wants, not the IT person who might have a personal relationship with someone from the "other copier company"

Yep agreed with Slimslob. When the image / pdf (or any file) is written in the computer there's a date and time listed with it under the "date modified" column . Client should just look at that. They'll get used to it

The PDF generated will also add the metadata of when it was created, as well as any modifications made to it. Open any PDF in Acrobat and then go to File > Properties and the information is there in the Description tab.
