RIcoh SP 8400dn Grainy Print with new PCL6 Drivers

Hello, customer got a new PC and went to install the same PCL6 Driver that worked well before on his old PC.
Coincidently he noted the driver from the website and just been updated.
Now the PCL6 Driver is giving a graining looking print. It is not in low resolution or toner save mode.
I went out and re-downloaded it using the manual TCP/IP install so as to avoid the windows involvement.
    It made no difference.
We tried the PCL6 Universal Driver and that was no different.
We then tried the PS3 Driver and that works well with a good resolution print.
However, the Insert feature for cover sheets is missing. He needs them to separate jobs.
Has anyone see these issues before?
I don't know what to do at this point. Any help greatly appreciated.

The only driver I see on Ricoh-USA that was just updated 9 days ago is the Driver for Universal Print. Before installing the driver again you should completely remove the old driver.

Thank you I will make sure that is done when I go back. I am not sure if I did that or not.

I tried deleting the other drivers but unfortunately i am getting the same grainy print quality.
The customer also has a color SP C840dn so we tried to use the 840's driver to print to the 8400 but still the same print quality. It is fine on the 840.
I realized the 8400 has PS3 emulation and the 840 has true Adobe3, so maybe that is the issue? Even though the 8400t printed fine before he got the new PC somehow something changed...
So now I am looking for the PostScript3 option for the 8400 but it is over $400 and he only wants to spend half that. And wants a guarantee it will fix the issue before he pays.
Otherwise he will keep using the PS Driver with the missing cover / slip sheet option which is a pain for him not to have that separating the jobs.

Have you considered the possibility that it is something different about the new PC and not the driver? Different chip set, different DLLs etc.

Thank you for that idea, I did think what could possibly be causing this...is it the PC? But like I said, the PS Driver works fine but it is missing the insert feature for some bizarre reason. We searched everywhere for it. It's like they took it off or something.
I will try using the 8400's grainy PCL6 driver and set it up for the 840's IP address see if it is grainy on that as well. Might be a week or two.
