Pull the ITB assembly out and check the latch cam on the back end of the shaft that the contact lever is on. If it is broken that end of the ITB unit will move during ID patch reading causing the dust shield for the ID sensors to not open fully. Also you have properly cleaned the ID sensors?

I've checked all these, everything seems fine. I tried line adjustment mode C it completed, but mode a failed. I tried configuration/counter page now, it printed. But line adjustment mode A still failing.

Then the ID sensor assemble is defective.

I second the ID sensor and to check the ITB.

When you first said blank pages on the counter/config, I thought maybe the ground on the back of your K PCU was missing, but since you said it printed forget that I guess.

If you have access to another machine...I usually swap all 4 PCU's and/or ITB, make sure mode A completes, and then swap parts 1 by 1 until you find the culprit.

This is all assuming it is NOT the ID sensor, which it very well could be.

I suspect ITB to be the culprit to this headache... All PCU parts was newly inserted, sometimes mode C and A completes, at times it doesn't.

I got a great bit of advice here many years ago when I was having a similar issue with the line position adjustment on a C2800, and I used it several times to resolve my issue.
I wish I had noted the name of the member.
I've not had to use it on this series, but I did use it up to at least the Cxx02 series.

I refer to it at the "Advanced Line Position Adjustment"

Can't hurt to try. (Make sure ID sensor is cleaned first)......

                  • For C2500 /3500/2800/ 3300 series (etc.)
                  • NOTES: Resetting ACC is that the calibration is written on top of the last calibration over and over. Therefore it becomes corrupt at some point, so the factory recall sets it back to default so you get a fresh start.

                  - ACC Recall SP5-610-4

Note: * Anything other than ‘11’ indicates a problem

                  - Line Adjustment C SP2-111-3

                  - Line Adjustment A SP2-111-1 Execute twice

                        I've tried it, SP 3012 seems ok. C, M, Y, K (11111111)
                        MODE A still failing.

Finally found the solution. Yellow PCU was staining the ITB. I lowered down to yellow unit and opened it only to see developer is low, I had to top developer with mpc5503 I've as scrap and initialize yellow PCU and line adjustment mode C and A was completed. Before then machine was seeing all units as perfect sp 3012, but wonder why it never detected something was wrong with yellow PCU.

Thank you guys for your various contributions, one love ❤️.
