Thanks for all this info!!! I'm very grateful Where did you find this error code? I tried to look at service manual but I had no sucess.

    Hey,

D1765582T is for Smart Operation Panel. Should I try using Normal Operation Panel firmware instead?

Just to clarify, I'm using D176/D177 SOP files, which are the same for MP C2003.

Try using rfg-esource instead of TSRC for firmware downloads. Also download and read the Firmware history file. It will have the correct file names.

Those codes are listed at the end of the firmware update procedures. I looked it up in a c4504 manual. BTW, DO NOT load NOP firmware onto a SOP equipped machine. Pretty sure bad things would happen.

Understood. About the SD Card Formatter, this tool formats to FAT16. It will work as usual for everything? (Android panel update, Java update, firmwares in general)? Someone once told me that FAT32 is mandatory for some firmware updates.

A separate installation manual was issued for the SOP, rfg059499 on rfg-esource. That manual has been updated at least twice due to errors in the procedure. The installations for the 03 color models is also in the service manual for the C2003/C2503. With the first SOP that I installed I has to call tech support due to the differences between the D148 manual and the D178 manual, D178 manual I had did not mention firmware. From what I remember, there are a couple of firmware modules that have to be at a certain level first before the Package firmware can be installed, though since you are working on a C2503 it should be at the correct level.
Aahh YES! It's coming back to me...We installed several of those for a little while. Ricoh had gotten one or two of the procedures out of order. What a cluster fuck it was the first time or two until we figured it out on our own. There were several Service Mode settings and special firmware. Not too bad once we knew how it was SUPPOSED to be done.

JAVA may be disabled in SP mode. Read your service manual.

Good morning, I'm going to do this today. I had already seen that in SP it would have it, and that java is native, as well as Browser, but it needs to be started by sdcard.

Hey guys, its me again, sorry for the (very very) late reply, but I felt a duty to reply this thread because my problem was solved and I need to share what I did and what I learned this entire year:

Yes, the package was the problem, so If you need to update firmware from Ricoh machines that are using Smart Operation Panel v1 (the old and glitched version), you will certainly need to download every firmware component and drop inside romdata folder. (Or extract from .pck file)

With 7zip installed, right click the pkg and extract, ignore the warning messages.
You will get a tgz file, do the same and extract, to get a tar file.

Extract the tar file to get the individual fwu files (and also zip files for the SOP screens).

Update the old fashioned way, and you should be good to go, unless the download is corrupt or for the wrong model.
Perfect answer, this method worked for me the entire year I worked with printers, it's very handy to just extract instead of downloading manually every component. Very useful tip!

This hint is mandatory for who is begining with Ricoh, this tool is awesome! After I started using, my issues with firmware dropped a lot!

Thank you guys for all the support <3

Yes, base OS for most Ricoh does not like a Windows formatted device. Another utility that also works in MiniTool Partition Wizard. I have also found it helpful when working with older Ricoh models that only take SD cards smaller than a certain size. It allows you to partition the SD card for a smaller active size. You can find 2GB SD cards online but not always locally. And what customer is willing to wait 3 or 4 days for you to get a new SD card in.
