If printing from a Mac you need postscript installed. PS card from another machine will not work.
I think I have used PS cards from another machines. Depending on the controller generation you might need to follow some install/uninstall steps (Application Move Exec/Undo via SP) otherwise you might habe additional content/crapdata on the SD card from another software options.
Still I find it a bit odd that PS isn't working on the other hand sidorvm posted a picture with a PS related update error so it's possible that the SD card data got corrupted.
Error message:
Reboot after card insert. E32
GW5d_prt_PS3 Card No.:1/1
Are the PS3 related settings in "user tools" -> "printer" gone?
I always had this PS3 Card type24 inserted and was able to use printer from my mac. I bought this card on local yahoo auction and it worked for years. Now something changed and it doesn't work anymore for some reason.
I inserted it in Slot 1 - is this correct?
I also tried to use D0895588C.fwu from Gift, but machine don't even recognize the file. Says that no valid firmware available.
Ok. after dancing around for a bit more I inserted PS3 card into Slot 1 and it somehow recognized the card! Now I can print from Mac too!!
And now Emulation Priority is set to PS3 in"user tools" -> "printer"setting.
Well I think we can consider this case fully resolved. Won't be possible without all your help! Much appreciated! Thanks a lot!
I learned a lot

That's nice to hear - Slot 1 is the correct one (2nd is for updates)

It is possible that someone removed and reinserted the PS3 card while the C2801 was ON. That will cause the card to not be recognized. SD cards should only be inserted and removed from Slot1 and Slot 2 when power is OFF.

When I was trying to fix the machine, there is a chance I removed it while power on.
