In the romdata folder create a folder named D059 and put all the firmware files in the D059 folder. Also the firmware files that you want to put on the SD card are the extracted .rfu files and not the downloaded rfg*****.zip files.

You never ever change the extension of a file. Each format belongs to a specific form of use for the device.

From where did you download these files and for what specific use? Update by SD or Remotely?

And I feel satisfied with being better every day, and with using Gnu-Linux as my usual Operating System.Apologies for my English, it's not my mother tongue and I'm helping the translator.

Try another card, 2gb or 4 maximum.
download the .fwu files and extract them.
Create folder ''Romdata'' create D059 folder in Romdata.
copy extracted files in D059 folder.
insert the card in service slot.

boot the machine probably with door open and follow the instructions on scree,
                Start updating with System/copy first.

                Regard's

The files placed in the romdata folder need to be the .fwu extension.

You could also try using the Firmware update tool

FWU files into the romdata folder, insert card into slot 2.

Most of the time Problem is with card. if you haven't done the firmware with this card before try different card, it works well in PC but somehow machine can't read it. you can the post the pic of the file structure on the card here it will be easy to find out if there is something wrong with your file structure.

Sorry my mistake. It should be fwu. rfu files are for remote updating through WIM.

From what has been reported lately in the forum, the application to update the firmware is giving problems.

(My 2 cents...) Unless he has formatted his card with the "approved" formatter tool, he may find the card appears to work fine in a PC and yet it may still not be recognized once inserted into the copier.
