That looks to be removed from the fusing sleeve. The only reason that you should ever take one apart is if a junior tech order a replacement for a torn sleeve but ordered for the wrong region and you get stuck with having to make it work. Replace the entire sleeve with the one whose voltage matches where you live.

Can you guys tell me what is the fabric on the oil bar of the ricoh machine, with pictures attached?
its cotton but why bother when you can order one online.
I rebuilt a bunch of mpc3502 to mpc4503 fusers and if the sleeve was torn and ran a lot it would take out the plastic piece that the fabric sits on.
Basically that cotton holds the high temp grease...
