    Ricoh MP301 Missing Admin Credentials

The school I work at inherited a number of Ricoh machines when we bought our new facility. I can get them functioning to a point, but I really need to get access to all of the settings in order to get things where we want them. Unfortunately, the previous facility owner either does not have the admin credentials or is unwilling to share them. What can I do to circumvent this?

Have you tried to login as supervisor. Default is no password. Supervisor can do one thing only, change the admin credentials.

Would this be done on the device itself or though a computer interface?

You did not say if you had tried the default login credentials, (lower case) admin , and no password ( blank).

Always easiest thru the web interface.

              Try these

              User name : admin
              Password :

              User name : admin
              Password : admin

              User name: admin
              Password : password

              Those normally work

There was a time when all Ricoh sold through dealers were distributed through Savin. For some models the default password was savin. I have also seen techs use the model as the password.

Factory mode, SP5846-46. Warning, will clear the address book also, I think.

Factory mode sounds like what I want since anything saved on the machines is from the previous owner.

However, I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do with your info.

Re: Ricoh MP301 Missing Admin Credentials

Update on this post, I have tried all of the admin and supervisor credentials suggested to no avail. I'm doing it all directly on the machine as they are stuck with a static IP address, which I can't change currently, and which conflicts with other devices on the network.

Contact Ricoh USA support center. If you are with an authorized dealer they will send out your regional rep to train you on factory mode. If you are not they will send a nearby trained technician to clear the passwords for you.

                          It is what is required.
Although the access procedure has been shared here on occasion, a public forum is no place for it.
Even if you were to wipe the admin credentials, there are likely several other settings and steps you'll need to regain complete access, and you'll be coming back again, and again for the "next step".
You said that you got these machines for free, so you're ahead of the game so to speak, save yourself a ton of time and call a tech to visit you and unlock them.

Tim, it's been clear from the outset, he's an end user that got the units for free
